for over 10 years. California has been adding ethanol the longest and in the highest quantities. I have been working on these cars daily since they were new, the early injectors did not have issues before ethanol was introduced, the cars were at least 10 years old at the time Ethanol was introduced and injector failures were extremely rare. I can tell you with 100% confidence, spending money and time in a effort to try to keep old style injectors with today's fuel is flushing the money down the drain. The early style injectors were great when the fuel did not have ethanol, the injectors having 12 volts was never a issue with the older fuel. We were changing to switched power about 6 years ago in the hope that it might help, most of those cars have had failures since and some had brand new old style at the time of changing to switched power. The only real fix is to install injectors that are compatible with the fuel we are forced to use today.
